          1. Fiji Law Society Convention – 1-3 Aug 2003, Shangri-La Fijian Resort, Yanuca Island

          All Members are advised that the Fiji Law Society Convention is scheduled from 1-3 August 2003 at the Shangri-La Fijian Resort, Yanuca Island. The registration forms have already been sent out to you all.

          No doubt this year's Convention offers a difference in the quality and content of the Programme as well as the choice of Shangri-La Resort Hotel, one of Fiji's premier holiday destinations. Members will also have the opportunity to hear distinguished speakers from abroad such as Hon. Justice Catherine Branson of the Federal Court of Australia, and Hon. Justice Michael Kirby AC CMG of the High Court of Australia and others who are experts in their respective fields. This year, the Law Society has extended an invitation to our international colleagues and we expect a number of delegates to come from overseas.

          In this regard, Members are further reminded that delegates who register and pay on or before 6th June 2003 will receive a 10% discount on registration fees.

          To avoid disappointment, please register early as there are only 21 rooms left.

          Completed Registration Forms must reach the Fiji Law Society, P O Box 2389, Government Buildings, Suva no later than the Closing Date - 18 June 2003. In this regard, please note that there will be no refunds for cancellations after this date.

        2. LAWASIA Children and the Law Conference, Friday 20th and Saturday 21st June 2003 - Carlton Crest Hotel in Brisbane, Australia.

          This Conference is organised by the LAWASIA. Hon. Justice Nazhat Shameem will be one of the speakers at the Conference.

        3. New Zealand Law Society on Litigation Skills, 17-23 August 2003 Christchurch, New Zealand.

              This Conference will be held first time at Lincoln University. You can contact Theresa Lent, New Zealand Law Society, P O Box 5041/DX SP20202, Wellington for the registration forms.

          (iv) Attorney-General's Chambers Conference 2003, Fiji

              The Attorney-General's Chambers Conference will be held again this year. The tentative dates for the Conference is 14-16 November 2003.

              All legal practitioners have been requested to send possible topics or area of law, which they would like to be discussed during the Conference. Ideas, suggestions and/or comments may be forwarded to Ms Mere Rakuita at the Attorney-General's Chambers.

              Members will be informed of other details of the Conference as they become available.
