ISSUE NO.4 MARCH/APRIL 2003


1. Fiji Law Society Convention – 1-3 August 2003, Shangri-La Fijian Resort, Yanuca Island

All Members are advised that the Registration Brochure for the Fiji Law Society Convention were mailed out 2 weeks ago. Those Members who pay on or before 6th June 2003 will receive a 10% discount on registration fees.

Registration fees includes the following:

    1. Accommodation for Friday and Saturday night

    2. All meals from dinner on Friday to lunch on Sunday;

    3. Tea/coffee breaks on Saturday and Sunday morning and afternoon

    4. Drinks during the President's Cocktail on Friday and wine/soft drinks during the Gala Dinner on Saturday

    5. Conference Papers

    6. Each delegate will receive either a Convention T-shirt or Sulu

Registration fees do not include:

    1. Costs for incidental expenses such as liquor and drinks - other than sponsored wine and soft drinks provided during the Gala Dinner on Saturday and drinks provided at the President's Cocktail on Friday night

    2. Sundries - telephone costs, laundry charges, room service and activity charges.

Completed Registration Forms must reach the Fiji Law Society, P O Box 2389, Government Buildings, Suva no later than the Closing Date - 18 June 2003. In this regard, please note that there will be no refunds for cancellations after this date.

The Fiji Law Society has booked a total of 100 rooms. This will be done on a "first-come-first serve-basis". Once we have received paid bookings for these 100 rooms, we will not be able to guarantee any additional bookings for accommodation. However, the Society will be able to accept bookings for a limited number of Non-Resident "Session Delegates" (no accommodation and meals).

2. CONTINUING LEGAL EDUCATION 2003 PROGRAMME

Members are advised that the venue for all Suva CLE Seminars has been relocated to the JJ's Conference Room (Upstairs), YWCA Building.

Members are kindly requested to confirm and pay for attendance at least a day before. This will enable the Secretariat to ensure all arrangements are secured well in advance.
